Designed as a second home for a family with college-aged children, the house replaces their home destroyed on the site in 2011 by Hurricane Irene.
Situated on piers next to the river, the house is laid out in overlapping forms that orient views toward the mountaintop across the river as well as the rapids downstream.
The house is designed with divided sleeping quarters so it can remain partially closed when not utilized by the entire family. Centered around a communal, main living space, the home features multiple exterior terraces ideal for intimate retreats as well as large family gatherings.
